Dancer: Lynzi Scholz

Background: Chicago Heights native, Lynzi Scholz,
began dancing at the age of three after seeing her first Gene Kelly movie. Starting out in ballet, she briefly ventured into tap and found her
way into jazz , which she continued studying through
most of her childhood. By high school she had also
begun taking contemporary and modern classes.
When she was fourteen her family moved to
England where she studied dance more
intensely at the Kilburn Dance Academy in
Northamptonshire. There she also began acting in
Northampton’s Royal Youth Theater Company.
In productions such as Hiawatha and Shakespeare’s
A Midsummer Night’s Dream, she often assisted
with the choreography.
She attended Northampton College in pursuit of a
degree in Musical Theater. Upon her return to the
states she started teaching ballroom dance
in Columbus Ohio, and loved it.
A knee injury kept her out of dance for a bit, but
now, this mother of two is home and sharing her
love of dance as a ballroom instructor at Heart & Sole Dance
in Tinley Park
